Our nurses have been very busy recently treating a variety of skin conditions that some of our little feathers have.
When children are sick or have a low immune system, different infections can flourish easily and unfortunately can spread to other children due to living in such close proximity. Our nurses are vigilent with cleaning the children’s skin, applying appropriate antibiotic creams and monitoring them closely. Skin infections can be extremely difficult to treat. We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of our nurses, being there for the children to treat these difficult conditions.
A large part of our program focuses on providing and extending knowledge and skills to the local staff, so our nurses have also been using this time to give hands-on training to the local staff on ways to treat and prevent the spread of infection. Our team consists of a variety of skilled professionals and we are so grateful to everyone who volunteers their time and knowledge to advocate and care for our little feathers.
