When people hear the words “palliative care”, often a sad look creeps across their faces, downcast eyes and the previous joy that was in them, seems to drift away. But that is not at all what we want to see, or how we feel about providing palliative care
We want people to know the joy, the happiness and the smiles that CAN and DO happen in a place like this, and in palliative care. When we choose to make the most of each moment, wonderful things happen and there is happiness and joy that the children experience.
Our children have exciting and happy times, look to see what they have been getting up to this week!! Enjoying lollipops, listening to nursery rhymes, spending time in the sensory room and listening to live music on the ukulele played especially for them! A special Thank You to Ryan who came and played wonderful music and sang to the children!
These are such precious moments, and make this a happy place.
There is no denying the fact that palliative care does come with sadness. It surely does. It comes with loss, with heartache, and very, very hard goodbyes. We acknowledge the reality of this. But, we continue to choose to live each day with hope, love and joy.
We don’t want to focus on the child’s illness or disease. Instead, we choose life and living, and we choose to make each precious moment count for these children.
