This week we celebrated the joy of Christmas with our beautiful children, and wonderful staff we work alongside. We went all out this Christmas as we think these children deserve it! We decorated a big room so all the children could celebrate and be together, and the room literally sparkled. The walls were covered in tinsel and lights, a beautiful Christmas tree lit up the room, and of course, Santa appeared and the children had their own individual photos on Santa’s knee. These are very special memories to keep.
Most of the children are fed by a tube going from their nose to their stomach, so they often miss out on different tastes of food. Well, no one was to miss out today! We had different pureed food the children could taste, along with chocolate yoghurt and lollipops, which the children loved!
As many of the children we work with cannot see or hear, we made sure these children were included too. Our wonderful Speech Therapist, Hanna, organised a sensory story where the children could feel what was happening in the story.
To end the party, we were delighted to have a Singing Sunbirds children’s choir from the International School of Ho Chi Minh, come and sing so beautifully for the children. The children stood up the front of the room to perform their well rehearsed Christmas songs. The choir then divided, and sat amongst our children to sing carols to them. It was a beautiful moment in time.
We believe that each child is so special, despite what condition or illness they have, and deserves to have as much joy in life as any other child. This Christmas we have been privileged to be a part of sharing joy to these children. As you look over these photos, we invite you to celebrate these children, and this Christmas with us!
We would also like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who helped make this party possible by helping out on the day!
